Day 2: L-A girls make it back-to-back wins

After losing ending an overall thirty-game losing streak on Friday, the Lewiston-Altura girls made it two in a row with a 72-53 win over Mabel-Canton at the 29th Annual Lewiston Auto Warrior Club Tournament at McCown Gymnasium on Saturday.

L-A (2-7) led 35-27 at the half, but scored 17 of the first 20 points in the second to pull away.

Emily Beeman led all scorers with 21 points, while Emelia Schindeldecker had 20 and Blair Schilling finished with 13.

Courtney Graves led Mabel-Canton (4-6) with 16 points and Coranda Vickerman added 15.

Day 1: Lewiston-Altura girls pick up first win of season

Three players scored in double figures as the Lewiston-Altura girls basketball team snapped an overall thirty-game losing streak and picked up its first win of the season, 54-33 over Hope Lutheran in the first game of the 29th Annual Lewiston Auto Warrior Club Tournament at McCown Gymnasium on Friday.

Emelia Schindeldecker led the way for L-A (1-7) with 13 points (11 in the first half), followed by Emily Beeman and Blair Schilling who both scored 10.

The Cardinals held a commanding 34-18 lead at the half and never looked back.

Megan Tews paced Hope Lutheran (4-6) with 12 points, while Alex Ludford and Olivia Klug both finished with five.
