Day 2: L-A girls make it back-to-back wins

After losing ending an overall thirty-game losing streak on Friday, the Lewiston-Altura girls made it two in a row with a 72-53 win over Mabel-Canton at the 29th Annual Lewiston Auto Warrior Club Tournament at McCown Gymnasium on Saturday.

L-A (2-7) led 35-27 at the half, but scored 17 of the first 20 points in the second to pull away.

Emily Beeman led all scorers with 21 points, while Emelia Schindeldecker had 20 and Blair Schilling finished with 13.

Courtney Graves led Mabel-Canton (4-6) with 16 points and Coranda Vickerman added 15.

Day 1: Lyga pushes C-FC girls past Mabel-Canton

Kerrigan Lyga scored a game-high 18 points to lead the Cochrane-Fountain City girls basketball team to a 46-35 victory over Mabel-Canton at the 29th Annual Lewiston Auto Warrior Club Tournament at McCown Gymnasium on Friday.

Rylee Gabel and Karen Scharlau both added six points for C-FC, which had eight players score on the night, as opposed to five for M-C.

Payton Danielson led Mabel-Canton (4-5) with 11 points, while Hannah Nolte added eight to go along with seven rebounds and Coranda Vickerman finished with seven points. Courtney Graves also had six points and seven rebounds for the Cougars.
